WHAT’S THE STORY WITH THE SOUND SYSTEM?

Once again, we worked with our longtime collaborators Living Voice, the Nottinghamshire-based speaker manufacturers, whose vintage Air Partner speakers have been reconceived for the space. These imposing horn-loaded speakers have been paired with a thoroughly modern D&B Audiotechnik sound system for improved distributed sound throughout the room, as well as a pair of Klipsch Cornwall speakers in the bar.

Sources include the original EMT 948 broadcast turntables from the much-missed Plastic People and a bespoke rotary mixer from Barcelona’s Can Electric workshop.

Perhaps the most significant advance is the level of acoustic treatment in the room, with consultants Sound Space Vision enrolled to advise on creating a distinct sound signature for the new Spiritland Royal Festival Hall.

IS THE VENUE WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY?
Yes. Spiritland has no steps and a wheelchair-accessible WC.
