Gary first started buying records back in the mid 1980s and began DJing in local pubs and bars, and would often travel to the States looking for records to buy.

A few years ago he started to DJ with the Mr Bongo Soundsystem which has given him the opportunity to take trips all over the world buying and playing records.

Tony 'Jazz Dad' Higgins plays extended and exploratory sets spanning jazz, reggae, psych, blues, soul, Americana, disco, afro and Latin.

With a background in music management and promotion, Tony also worked in TV for several years, working on landmark BBC documentaries including 'Jazz Britannia' and 'Seven Ages of Rock'. He produced a live concert film in Los Angeles with multi-Grammy winning legend Emmylou Harris and is a music consultant to several specialist record labels, providing sleeve notes and advising on deep archive reissues.

Most recently, Tony has worked closely with renowned disco/jazz//funk label BBE Music on 'J Jazz', a compilation and reissue series of Japanese jazz rarities from the 70s and 80s.

Expect to hear a greasy rhythm and blues 45 alongside some scorching funk mixed up with roots reggae and super fine jazz, plus much more.

Dance is the alias of Sam Purcell. Born and based in the suburbs of South London, he works as a visual designer, producer and DJ. Cavernous virtual spaces and dub-indebted bass frame his productions and sets. His record label, Blank Mind, extends this preoccupation.

J Chrysalis, has recently produced recent mixes on Rinse for Hessle Audio and the 100th edition of Blowing Up the Workshop. His debut release A Kind Robin / Latent Space is out on Blank Mind.

Hodan Styrene is a British-Somali jazz DJ born and bred in London. She is the creator of radio projects like ‘The Garden is Open’ and ‘The Sessions’ and has played at NTS, Balamii and Rinse France.

For Hodan, jazz is the living thread that weaves all black art and technology : hip-hop, electronic, techno, soul, funk, house and drum and bass. Playing music for the mind, body and soul.
