We are delighted to announce a very special Spiritland Talks with two co-founders of Art of Noise, Anne Dudley and J.J. Jeczalik.
The Art of Noise are perhaps the UK’s most influential electronic music group, pushing a distinctive avant-garde pop sound created from a unique blend of synth-pop, classical music, film noir and cutting-edge sampling techniques, taking them from Dadaist studio experimentation to the Top Of The Pops studio.
Anne Dudley and J.J. Jeczalik will be talking to Ian Peel (founder & editor-at-large of Classic Pop magazine) through the creation of their third album ‘In No Sense? Nonsense!’, which is given a 50-track deluxe reissue on 2nd November via Warner Music. They'll also explore the history of the group and their varied collaborations, playing selections on Spiritland's world-class sound system.
Tickets are £30.00 and strictly limited to 60.
Please join us for this extremely rare chance to hear from Anne and J.J. and the music of The Art of Noise in the intimate surroundings of Spiritland.

Starting out behind two turntables at the age of 14, our man Michael Davies is a serial crate digger and DJ with a passion for remarkable music.
He enjoys nothing more than genre-spanning marathon sets, with records played from all across the globe.
Our weekend resident is back for another rare groove filled affair – expect anything from deep soul to free jazz – and especially if the word 'love' features in the title.
Spiritland Presents: Jónsi (Sigur Rós) – ‘Frakkur 2000-2004’ world premiere (sold out)

Join us in King's Cross for the world premiere of a triple album of unreleased solo electronic music from Jónsi of Sigur Rós, in advance of its official release.
For many years the experiments in minimal electronic music represented on the Frakkur collection were thought lost, owing to a corrupted hard-drive. However, CDRs shared among close friends at the time came to light a decade later, saving the projects from oblivion.
Mastered for the first time for this release, the legacy recordings – totalling 24 tracks – will be played in full and at volume through our world-class sound system.
Tickets for this very special phones-off, lights-down deep listening session are sold out.

Born in NYC, Black Sifichi spent his early youth moving between there and Glasgow. After having studied with Stella Adler and Ann Raychel, he began performing as an actor in New York's downtown theatre scene.
After seeing The Clash at NY's Palladium and later at Bond's, his attitude toward music and his social vision was radically transformed. In 1982 he left New York to live in London where he met Phil Von of the group Von Magnet. With Steve Weymouth and Anthony Becker they created a 'multimedia' physical slide show for Von Magnet's savage and spectacular performances. Sifichi became the photographer for the group – his photos were used for the artwork of 'El Sexo Surrealista' and the recent double DVD Von Magnet 1983-2013.
Black Sifichi brings with him a whole library of deep ambient music accompanied by his signature spoken word.
