Smugglers Inn focuses on fresh talent unearthed on his much loved radio show. Nettles is a bit more 'naughty' with Danny's secret disco weapons receiving plays from Crazy P and Todd Terje.

But let's not forget Dannys own formidable DJ skills – he’s a seasoned selector with the unique ability to play house, disco, techno, garage, bass music, broken beat and jazzy beats in the same set without any break in dancefloor energy. This has led to appearances far and wide including Fabric, Lux, Dommune and several Boiler Rooms (he was asked to curate his own Boiler Room to launch his Hot Coins album in 2013).

Come and hear which records Danny has dug from deep and wide to play at Spiritland.

Barely Breaking Even began in 1993 when Peter Adarkwah and Ben Jolly were discussing music and discovered a shared interest in diverse, eclectic sounds covering all genres – from old scratchy Brazilian grooves, through 70s funk, via jazz fusion, hip-hop and soul to newer garage, disco and techno music.

Pete had been DJing at friends' parties for several years and had just graduated to his first gig on the club scene. First and foremost a music lover and collector Pete had discovered a previously unknown aptitude when he started spinning the tunes. They decided to promote a night where the music that was played would not be restricted as it was in other clubs – the new night would be across styles and freestyle.

Since early 2000, Pete has continued to develop the label, taking it to new heights. BBE models itself on the motto of 'real music for real people' – with now over 180 compilations and artist albums released, profiling a variety of sounds and styles from funk and soul to disco and Latin as well as house and hip hop and beyond.

Brunch at Spiritland Royal Festival Hall just got groovy, with this monthly residency from two titans of the library music scene, Jonny Trunk and Martin Green.

Half Forgotten Library is a regular Sunday session bringing largely forgotten swinging library recordings and OSTs back to life through our world-class sound system.

Drop in anytime 1-6pm for a stretched out brunch, daytime drinking and lounging in the company of recently revived jazz, soul, funk, exotica and soundtracks.
