Sophie has graced decks worldwide with her signature fusion of jazz funk, soul, boogie, disco, electro, house and world music.

Steadily building her repertoire, she's played alongside the likes of Gilles Peterson, Norman Jay and Trevor Nelson. From underground clubs and festivals to exclusive events such as the Cannes Film Festival, Monaco Grand Prix and Hotel Costes Paris, Sophie continues to make regular appearances at many reputable venues and parties worldwide.

A decade ago, Sophie joined the world's first all-female broken beat / nu-jazz collective Ladybugz, leading to a weekly show on Ministry of Sound Radio and many festival line ups. She also joined forces with Soho Radio at which she presents her weekly show 'Callis in Wonderland'.

Record label boss, radio broadcaster and lifelong soul aficionado Ralph Tee is here at Spiritland Royal Festival Hall for a Saturday night of upbeat, smiles for miles music. His knowledge of and passion for sharing rare groove is second to none.

Ralph has been a club DJ since the 1970s and broadcasting on radio since the 1980s, with deep roots in the UK soul scene.

Half Forgotten Library is a regular Sunday session bringing largely forgotten swinging library recordings and OSTs back to life through our world-class sound system.

Drop in anytime 1-6pm for a stretched out brunch, daytime drinking and lounging in the company of recently revived jazz, soul, funk, exotica and soundtracks.

To kick off Meltdown 2019 at Southbank Centre, we’re excited to bring one of our very favourite DJs to our Royal Festival Hall home to play prime-time boogie, funk, disco, 2 step soul and more under the Spiritland disco ball until 2am. It's Luke's 50th birthday too, so come ready to party.

Doors at 10pm, with drinks, disco ball and dancing til 2am.

Karl FM cut his teeth playing long dinner sets in his native Stockholm and has since picked up gigs in New York, Delhi and across the UK. His RFH brunch sets have become a beloved low key affair at Spiritland RFH and he joins us again for another during out Meltdown programming.

Karl is Station Manager at SOAS Radio and a resident DJ at the London party Club Sandwich.

Born in Bulgaria, Frederika has been collecting records while living in London for the past six years. She also started her own night, Date With The Sun, at the renowned Cubo Beach Bar in her hometown of Varna that takes place every few months and has gained a considerable following.

She brings the "playing-for-your-friends" vibe everywhere she plays her sets now and you can expect to hear all styles, from Eastern European jazz to modern soul, gospel, hip hop, lovers rock, tropical grooves and everything that helps her express her state of mind.

Frederika plays a brunch set for us at Spiritland Royal Festival Hall as part of our Meltdown 2019 programming.

Lex is a curator and label owner, one half of Church Of Sound and founder of cultural hub Total Refreshment Centre and global sound orientated Club Makossa.

He regularly hosts radio shows on Worldwide FM (London), Le Mellotron (Paris) and TSOnyc (NYC).

Originally from Paris, his musical education started as a teen in the early 90s growing up on US and French hip hop. The musical obsession quickly opened to associated genres jazz, funk, latin, soul and reggae… The early London years saw him go deep into my dub and post-punk and everything in between.

Quickly followed by a new addiction to west African funk, Caribbean grooves and other Brazilian goodness. Expect a healthy dose of outernational sounds.

Two disco bandoleros pioneering their own route through the great electronic wilderness – this year taking in Pikes, Glastonbury, Port Eliot and a trip West to the motherland on the cards.

With their boots firmly planted in dusty seventies sunsets, their panamerican productions take cosmic country funk to club and festival dancefloors via NYC latin disco and baggy acid house. Think the first summer of love meeting the second – Crosby, Stills and Nash at the Haçienda, The Doors at Shoom, The Orb at Woodstock.

At Spiritland Royal Festival Hall, they'll be carving a path between the country and latino forms of soul, funk and disco as part of our Meltdown programming while Despacio takes place upstairs.

Their output has so far drawn on the vibrant talents of South and East London's evolving scenes, with electronic jazz (Lunch Money and Project Karnak), afro-lusophone jazz (Caravela) and progressive folk (Jouis).

The records in Sam and Harry’s DJ bags follow the same quality-is-everything ethos, meaning versatile, smiles for miles selections of slow-burning funk, psychedelic dancefloor soul and jazz, right up to prime-time disco and classic house.

Broadcaster of repute Nick Luscombe brings the sounds of Flomotion to Spiritland Royal Festival Hall for his monthly Sunday residency.

As well as all the major radio outlets, Nick has also worked as both Music Editor at iTunes and Director of Music at London’s Institute of Contemporary Art, and is the founder of Musicity, an international sound project that fuses music, architecture, memory and experience.

When not scouring the remote corners of musical treasure troves for sonic gold, he lectures about sound art at universities, and is an in-demand field recording and sound archive creative for installation and live work.
