Jazz Brunch at RFH: Tara Minton & Ed Babar

Jazz harpist and vocalist Tara Minton and double bassist Ed Babar have created a beautiful new duo record, “Two For The Road”, an intimate exploration of tunes from the British jazz canon and the Great American Songbook celebrating an eight-year musical partnership.

Tara is proudly endorsed by Camac Harps and has performed the world over with the likes of Bjork, Tom Walker, SuRie, and Miranda Mulholland. Her original music has been featured on the BBC and her most recent concert at Cadogan Hall was streamed live on Jazz Fm. She has performed with Björk on “Later… with Jools Holland” and recorded sessions as both a vocalist and harpist at Abbey Road. Studios. Her 2020 release "Please Do Not Ignore The Mermaid" (Lateralize Records) received widespread jazz media praise and radio play. Alongside her performing career, Tara teaches as Professor of Jazz Harp at the London Performing Academy of Music.

London bassist, Ed Babar is band leader of The Blues and Roots Ensemble, a 9 piece band dedicated to sharing the music of Charles Mingus. BARE performs regularly in venues in and around London and leads large scale music education projects in schools across the UK.


The pair will present their new record at Spiritland’s jazz brunch on Sunday the 28th of Nov.

The £25 ticket includes entry to the event, coffee / tea and juice and one of the following dishes:

Pancakes - With blueberry compote & maple syrup

Breakfast Sandwich - Sausage, fried egg, Applewood smoked cheddar, chipotle ketchup in an English muffin
Fried Green Tomatoes - Corn pancake, coleslaw, jalapeño & green tomato salsa
Cheeseburger - 28 day aged beef burger with Applewood smoked cheddar, lettuce, tomato & red onion
Hot Dog - Caramelised onion, ketchup & mustard
Avocado on Toast - Avocado, poached egg , Aleppo chilli on sourdough (v)
