On March 20th six renowned London chefs and food writers are gathering for a four-course dinner to celebrate the wonderful but often underappreciated spice: pepper!
Writer and academic Dr Anna Sulan Masing has gathered her favourite London food people for a dinner on Monday 20 March that focuses on her favourite spice - pepper. Black and white pepper is often overlooked or underappreciated and yet is a staple on most dining tables.
Gathering for the Pepper Party are Mandy Yin, chef/owner of much-loved Malaysian Laksa restaurant Sambal Shiok; award-wining cook and writer Melissa Thompson, whose recent cookbook Motherland has delighted many; Tomas Heale chef/owner of renown Vegan restaurant Näifs; writer and community organiser Jenny Lau of platform Celestial Peach; and pastry chef Chloe-Rose Crabtree, famed for her crème brûlée cookies at Bake St - are each cooking a dish that highlights or pushes our ideas of pepper, and what pepper can be as a flavour.
We'll be curating a drinks list to work with the dishes, featuring cocktails, wines and beers that will play with heat to tantalise your tastebuds.
It all starts at 6.30pm - get your tickets now for an indulgent and spicy night.
