Spiritland Legends: XTC. Hosted by Andrew Harrison

Possibly the most wildly inventive and unpredictable of the post-punk pack, Swindon’s XTC began as a scratchy, Wire-style angular project but blossomed into a dazzling English Beach Boys. Explorations of paganism (Mummer, English Settlement) and English psychedelia (Oranges And Lemons) culminated in the summer-hazed glory of the Apple Venus/Wasp Star albums.

Join us for an all-XTC evening featuring everything from ‘Making Plans For Nigel’ and ‘Senses Working Overtime’ to Wicker Man Beatles, 16th Century power-pop, and their secret identity as the Nuggets-era Pink Floyd that time forgot: The Dukes Of Stratosphear.
