Spiritland Screen: Studio 54 plus afterparty

  • Jazz/Funk/Soul

After our riotous Italo Disco night in May, we're teaming up with the Everyman Cinema for a monthly night to celebrate films we love, some followed by intimate afterparties back here. The first in the series is a late night screening of the long-awaited Studio 54 documentary (2018, Director: Matt Tyrnauer) playing on Saturday 7th July.

Studio 54 was the epicenter of 70's hedonism - a place that not only redefined the nightclub, but also came to symbolize an entire era. Its co-owners, Ian Schrager and Steve Rubell, two friends from Brooklyn, seemed to come out of nowhere to suddenly preside over a new kind of New York society.

Now, 39 years after the velvet rope was first slung across the club’s hallowed threshold, a feature documentary tells the real story behind the greatest club of all time.

The screening at Everyman King's Cross is followed by an afterparty back at ours with music from Sheffield legend Solid State playing beneath the disco ball until 3am. Get your tickets and get ready to get down.
