KPM All Stars and the Radiophonic Workshop: Two days of musical icons in conversation

25/09/2018

We’ve two consecutive days of musical icons from the British musical soundscape joining us at Spiritland in October:

SPIRITLAND TALKS: KPM ALL STARS

We’re honoured to host three luminaries of the library music scene – Alan Hawkshaw, Brian Bennett and John Cameron – who’ll be discussing the history made between them in creating some of the world’s most iconic TV theme tunes, film scores and library productions in this rare and intimate chat session.

King of the swingers Jonny Trunk – who else? – is your host for the night.

Get ready for some blazing drums and fierce horns from the KPM catalogue on the big system.

SPIRITLAND TALKS: THE RADIOPHONIC WORKSHOP

The day after KPM we continue with their equally influential electronic peers, the Radiophonic Workshop.

To celebrate their first ever film score (Possum, 2018) they are joined by its director Matthew Holness to discuss the film, the score and their pivotal role in British electronic music and keeping the Radiophonic Workshop alive after 60 years of deep musical – and technological – creativity, exploration and invention.

Expect rare and unheard versions, dissected clips from the film and the incredible tale of how the sounds of outer space that now pervade our minds actually emerged from a backroom studio in Maida Vale.

Both events nicely priced but limited to 60 and ticketed separately.

Grab your tickets now for one, or both, of these never-to-be-repeated nights of music and conversation from these legends at Spiritland.
