Spiritland Talks: Tom Dixon (review)
02/08/2018
The first of our series of conversations with a selection of special guests, all of whom have been instrumental in the transformation of King’s Cross, took place last Thursday.
Tom Dixon took guests on an exclusive tour of his new studio, shop and restaurant in Coal Drops Yard, a new retail centre opening this Autumn.
The sold-out event then saw guests enjoy a three-course dinner at Spiritland, with NLA chair Peter Murray asking Tom about the influences that have guided his work as a designer, focusing especially on how music has inspired him.
Read what our organising partners NLA had to say about the event, including a particularly surprising revelation from Tom on the night about his ambitious plans for the future.
Tom’s record selection, as played through the Spiritland sound system:
Edith Piaf – La Vie En Rose
Fela Kuti – Water No Get Enemy
Cream – Crossroads (Live)
David Bowie – Space Oddity
Althea & Donna – Uptown Top Ranking
Funkadelic – One Nation Under A Groove
Prince – I Wanna Be Your Lover
Donna Summer – I Feel Love
