Stories of the music industry’s demise appear to have been greatly exaggerated. An encouraging picture has emerged in the last couple of years. Caius Pawson (Young Turks), Blaise Bellville (Boiler Room) and Alev Lenz (artist) swap stories and views and look ahead at what’s coming. Followed by a DJ set until late from Auntie Flo. Please note this is a ticketed event.

Spiritland Talks: A night of Nick Drake with Joe Boyd & Pete Paphides

Nick Drake's music never found its audience during his short life. Since his tragic death at 26 years old in 1974, his talent and influence has reverberated throughout the world of music in ever-increasing waves.
Record producer and writer Joe Boyd produced Nick Drake's first two albums and in this exclusive event, Joe talks to music journalist and radio presenter Pete Paphides about Nick's life and legacy, focussing in particular on his second album 'Bryter Layter', recorded in 1970 and released in March 1971.
The talks start at 7.30pm and are followed by a full album playback in silence on the Spiritland system at 9pm. Please note this is a ticketed event.

21st century record man Nick Huggett began his music career as a DJ and shop assistant at Mr Bongo before graduating to James Lavelle’s cult label Mo Wax to become an A&R man, over the last two decades he has been responsible for signing Dizzee Rascal, Wiley, MIA, Jack Penate, Adele, Alex Clare and Rizzle Kicks amongst others. His set radiates from Soho jazz to outer space taking in Brazil, psychedelia and funky outliers.
