Count Skylarkin' shared numerous DJ booths, dancefloors and pints with his friend and mentor, the much missed DJ Derek. Derek's family has left the Count a priceless and precious memento - the entirety of his music collection on MiniDisc. These discs have travelled the country, igniting dancefloors and shebeens for years, filled with reggae, dub, ska, rock & roll, swing, jive and more. Count Skylarkin' will be playing them and talking about the legacy of Derek's life along with friend, DJ and reggae lover Natty Bo.

After the sell-out success of our first collaboration with publishers Unbound, they return with an evening dedicated to the question How Do You Write About Food? Featuring Sabrina Ghayour, the host of the hugely popular Sabrina’s Kitchen supper club and best-selling cookbook Persiana; legendary chef, restaurateur and journalist Rowley Leigh; best-selling writer and expert on beer Pete Brown, and Zoe Adjonyoh, chef and author of the best-selling Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen.
Chaired by Unbound co-founder John Mitchinson this promises to be a hugely entertaining evening. Part of the Evening Standard’s London Food Month. Book early to secure a place. Doors at 6.30pm, the talks start at 7pm and DJs until late. Come hungry as we'll be serving fine food and drink from Chef Owen Kenworthy throughout the night.

With 45 years at the sharp end of dance music, and an untouchable heritage in music that stretches back to a residency at the Wigan Casino during the golden age of Northern Soul, Ian is one of the UK’s premier musical authorities, also creating the influential 'Mastercuts' series. Ian explores his collection throughout his bi-monthly residency at Spiritland, touching on pretty much the complete spectrum of black and dance music from 1965 to 1990.

We're having a party this summer. Bagelys is here to rock your world, bringing the dancefloor back to King’s Cross for the weekend. We're teaming up with Tanqueray for an all-day outdoor knees up from midday to 8pm in the heart of London. ‘Spiritland presents Bagelys’ is a celebration of everyone's two favourite things: underground house music and bagels.
We’ve got the tastiest names from the DJ world playing on a crystal clear D&B sound system, plus delicious refreshments including Tanqueray-infused smoked salmon bagels, salt beef and mustard bagels, Smirnoff and Pimms cocktails and loads more.

Mystic Bill has something of a similarly mystic legacy. Originally from Miami, the lure of music coming out of Chicago was so strong that he moved there, quickly establishing his sound at residencies at legendary clubs Shelter, The Vault and Normandy's alongside with Derrick Carter, Mark Farina and Ralphie Rosario. We're delighted to welcome him to Spiritland during a rare London visit.
