Things are about to get supremely chilled across both Spiritland venues with a new King's Cross residency and two kings of electronica at Southbank.

We're delighted to welcome The Chill Out Tent for a new fortnightly Sunday session in King’s Cross. The Chill Out Tentwas birthed by the ever-prolific Chris Coco and Matt Nearest Faraway during lockdown as an online space to build a community around music, arts and wellness. Now it comes to life every other Sunday in King's Cross between Midday and 5pm.

We couldn’t think of a better soundtrack to our Sundays at Spiritland - come for the music, stay for the brunch action and Bloody Marys. It doesn't get much more Balearic than that.

Spiritland Supper Club: Selin Kiazim (Oklava)

31/03/2022 RFH

  • Supper Club

Food lovers! We’re launching a series of one-off monthly supper clubs at Spiritland Royal Festival Hall with some of our favourite restaurants - indulgent evenings of dining and drinking - plus music to match.

We kick off on March 31st with Selin Kiazim from Oklava.

Unquestionably the UK’s leading light for modern Turkish food, Selin grew up as the daughter of Turkish Cypriot parents in north London.

Selin Kiazim has been a trailblazer in creating a new path for modern Turkish food from her restaurant Oklava on Luke Street in Shoreditch which opened in 2015. She now brings her unique approach to our dining room at Spiritland Royal Festival Hall for one night only.

The three course feasting menu comes with an optional wine pairing, showcasing wines from the region.

The evening is soundtracked by Ece Düzgit from Zel Zele Records. A true musical traveller, she explores the wild and groovy music from the Bosphorus region and beyond - funky rock to hip swinging disco.

We’re clearing out the tables for a party until 1am after the meal.

There’s only 80 tickets available for the meal, and a further 100 for the party only.

Tickets are £67.50 including service charge.

Your supper club ticket gets you in to the party.

These nights are only happening once so book early and come hungry...

Mera Bhai

31/03/2022 KC

  • Eclectic
  • Global

Born in London, with roots in India, alongside time spent growing up in Italy, Albania, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Nigeria, Mera Bhai’s worldly influence seeps into his unique take on dance music. Known as a founding member of Tropical-Psychedelia band Flamingods, the multi-instrumentalist has worked closely with Moshi Moshi Records, Soundway Records and Total Refreshment Centre.

Hard to pin down, Mera Bhai is centred on a musical balance, between eastern and western traditions, the new and the old. Taking influence from Indian Carnatic music, Arabic Rai and 70s Disco, with a heavy dose of 80s/90s Acid House, Detroit techno and Tropicalia on top. “Having grown up all over the world,” he explains, “I was surrounded by a wealth of different sounds - I’m just trying to weave the cultural through line that I hear in music”.

The merging of cultures is reflected in the artist name also. Mera Bhai is a Hindi greeting, which translates to ‘My Brother’ - the welcoming implication speaks to the borderless nature of dance music, both in a global sense, as well as personal. Infused with a wide, authentic cultural understanding and appreciation for the way dance music brings people together democratically, Mera Bhai seeks to expand minds, or to simply block out the rigorous day to day, and foster a sense of belonging.
