We are proud to announce a new bi-monthly night of culture, music and conversation with the iconoclastic publishers, Unbound.

Each night we will gather to discuss a particular question or idea followed by music and drinking. For the first instalment Unbound authors Tot Taylor (The Story of John Nightly) and Martine McDonagh (Narcissism for Beginners) are joined by the Times chief rock critic and author Will Hodgkinson, journalist and author Laura Barton and journalist and author Barney Hoskyns to discuss the question of How Do You Write About Music?

Ian explores his collection throughout his bi-monthly residency at Spiritland, touching on pretty much the complete spectrum of black and dance music from 1965 to 1990.

Derek's family has left the Count a priceless and precious memento - the entirety of his music collection on MiniDisc. These discs have travelled the country, igniting dancefloors and shebeens for years, filled with reggae, dub, ska, rock & roll, swing, jive and more. This year Record Store Day falls on Saturday 22 April. 2017 is also the sixtieth birthday year of BBC Radio 3’s Record Review. So on 22 April the programme and presenter Andrew McGregor will be celebrating RSD 2017 by leaving their Broadcasting House studio and broadcasting live from Spiritland.

The programme will feature Building a Library on Mahler’s epic ‘Resurrection’ symphony, as well a round-up of some of the latest releases -- plus we'll be playing select releases on our Kuzma turntable. Tickets are free but very limited and available from 9.30am, Monday 20th March.

Jeff Mills’ work has always been at the intersection between music, contemporary art, pop culture and design and always close to the field of science fiction.

On April 7th, Jeff Mills will release his new album, Planets on Axis Records. An album and live performance describing the nine planets of our Solar System, inspired by the 1918 classical score of Gustav Holst’s 'The Planets'. The score was arranged by Sylvain Griotto, performed by the Porto Philharmonic Orchestra in June 2015, conducted by Christophe Mangou, mixed by Jonathan Allen at Abbey Road Studios, London and mastered by Darcy Proper at Wisseloord Studios, Holland. It is released in HD surround 5.1 for Blu-Ray Audio, and stereo for CD and vinyl formats.

We're delighted to host a private Planets listening session with 5.1 surround sound system at Spiritland, King’s Cross with just 25 tickets available for sale.

The playback is followed by a DJ set by Toby Frith (bleep43)
