Join us at Spiritland on the 3rd October for a very special night to celebrate the new Disco Discharge ‘Box Of Sin’ compilation with a panel discussion and afterparty.

The renowned gay author and activist Paul Burston hosts three musical forces who have shaped gay nightlife in the 1980s and well beyond.

Princess Julia is a mainstay of London’s queer underground. A model, DJ and “first lady of fashion’ she’s hasn’t spent a night in since 1977. She’s a regular on the front row, a champion of avant garde designers and a regular DJ at the likes of The Glory and Dalston Superstore.

Wayne Shires has been putting on the very best in queer parties since the late ’80’s hosting legendary nights at Substation, Crash, The Cock and his clubs East Bloc and Brut. He’s relocated to Hastings these days where he runs Queer On The Pier, the annual all day festival featuring queer cabaret and DJs and The Trinity Town House.

Martin Aston has been writing about music, film and LGBTQ+ culture for over 30 years. He's the author of ‘Breaking Down The Walls Of Heartache - How Music Came Out’ - one of three books he’s authored - and a contributor to, amongst others, MOJO, Q, The Guardian, Radio Times, The Times and BBC Music online.

After the panel, DJ Mike Menace will showcase tunes from Box Of Sin plus his choice of tracks across the genres featured from Hi-NRG to Divas. Tickets very limited - follow the link and buy yours now.

We return to Lisbon for our third warehouse party of the year on Friday 6th October - this time headlined by house music legend Jimpster (Freerange Records / Delusions Of Grandeur) with support from Jorge Caiado (Carpets & Snares / PT)

Under his Jimpster alias, he has become one the most revered deep house artists operating on the scene today. His esteemed labels Freerange and Delusions Of Grandeur continue to help break incredible new music and equally impressive acts such as Detroit Swindle, Tornado Wallace and Session Victim. From his UK base, Jimpster has become a standard-bearer and custodian of the authentic house sound, and carries this flag to the four corners of the world.

He always injects warmth, depth, soul, sincerity and attitude to both his productions and his DJ sets, and has done for the last three decades at a world-class level.

Support comes from Lisbon’s own Jorge Caiado (Carpet & Snares Records / Groovement / Inner Balance)

With his first record released in 2012, Caiado carries with him the musical and technical baggage of a heavy weight, and propel sit with the emotion and enthusiasm for his craft of someone who falls in love with music everyday as if it was the first time.

His focus and drive still sees him finding time to be the label manager and executive producer for the Portuguese Groovement label and also weave the tapestry of his own record shop in Lisbon – Carpet & Snares Records – a hub for players and new comers in Lisbon’s underground music scene.

Join us for this journey into rhythm and melody at Arroz Studios - tickets available via the link right now.
