Join us for night of forward-thinking spoken word and comedy on Sunday 23rd October at Spiritland Royal Festival Hall with Omar Musa, Anna Sulan Masing, Stephanie Sy-Quia and Reuben Kaye.

Omar Musa is a Bornean-Australian author, visual artist and poet from Queanbeyan, Australia. He has released four poetry books, four hip-hop records, and received a standing ovation at TEDx Sydney at the Sydney Opera House. His debut novel “Here Come the Dogs” was long-listed for the International Dublin Literary Award and he was named one of the Sydney Morning Herald’s Young Novelists of the Year in 2015. His one-man play, “Since Ali Died”, won Best Cabaret Show at the Sydney Theatre Awards in 2018.

Fast, on the edge and brutally funny, multi-award winning, Australian comedian, singer and writer Reuben Kaye is loud, politically active, queer and brash. After racking up millions of views across Tiktok, Youtube & Instagram plus appearances on Spicks and Specks and Channel 4 & BBC’s You’re Fired, Kaye is now the danger man to watch on the scene.

Dr Anna Sulan Masing is a writer, academic and poet. She is co-founder of Cheese magazine, and the public research platform Sourced which investigates our global food and drink systems. Her podcast series, A Taste of Place launched in September 2022 and her debut book, Chinese And Other Asian, will be published in February 2024.

Stephanie Sy-Quia is a writer and printmaker based in London. Her debut Amnion (2021) is published by Granta Poetry. It is shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best First Collection.
