The Downhome Americana Brunch

  • Americana

On the first Sunday of every month, Spiritland and Holler host a downhome brunch at our Royal Festival Hall spot. Americana authority Baylen Leonard is your host for a laidback daytime session of live music, food, drink and DJs. For his second session on Sunday 5th December he's joined by two exciting live acts, Tim Prottey-Jones and Two Ways Home, both of whom represent the cream of the UK Americana and Country scene.

As founder member of Decca/Universal UK recording artists The Wandering Hearts, Tim received his Opry debut in 2018 in a bucket-list trip to America where the group shared stages with the likes of Chris Stapleton, Marty Stuart & John Prine in such prestigious venues as The Ryman Auditorium, The Bluebird Cafe & Graceland. The band toured ex- tensively throughout the UK, supporting such iconic artists as Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks, Eric Clapton in a string of Hyde Park shows.

Since leaving the band in 2019, Tim has been laying down the concrete foundations for a solo career, writing and recording a collection of sparkling modern tracks, with each of his four singles to date receiving their exclusive first plays on The Country Music Show with Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2.

Two Ways Home are the songwriters and folk-rock/country/Americana duo: Isabella MaK, originally from Vienna, Austria and Lewis Fowler, who grew up in Gloucestershire, UK. Opposites attract, which is certainly one of the reasons the pair were first drawn to each other. They may have stark contrast but music has always been their middle ground with their voices blending effortlessly.

An expedition to Nashville helped the two hone their sound combining traditional country storytelling, Austrian Alpine folk-lore and British innovation, which has taken them around the world, playing shows across the UK, Europe and America.

Baylen is your host and DJ - and you'll also find a menu of waffles, pancakes, burgers, hot dogs, fried green tomatoes and plenty more is complemented by a wide range of beers, bourbons and cocktails. Come and see out the year with some fantastic live music on the Southbank.
