Finally we welcome Spiritland family Darren Price to King's Cross for a night of blistering and relentless techno... not really, he's playing from the back of the box with journeys into dub, house and off kilter electronica.
Allied with respected British techno producer/DJs like Luke Slater and Dave Angel, Darren Price recorded for Junior Boy’s Own and toured the world as Underworld’s official DJ. Later making waves of his own with some of the most pure, undistilled techno being made in Britain.
Born in Woking, Price was turned on to Electro and Hip-Hop during the early ’80s and began practicing the fine art of mixing with an ancient turntable set-up. The acid-house explosion of the late ’80s captivated Price in a similar fashion, and after hanging out at the seminal club-night ‘Shoom', he hooked up with resident DJ Andrew Weatherall when he began working at Weatherall’s Boy’s Own Records.
He began his International DJ career in early 1991, before securing residencies including the famous rave club ‘Havanna' in Middlesborough, Londons 'Full Circle' and joining Andrew Weatherall at Nottingham’s ‘Venus' plus further afield at Ibiza's famous ‘Space' club in '95
Price soon made the leap to production as well, recording for JBO as Centuras and PLC. He continued recording under his own name also and was signed by NovaMute in 1995 along side Richie Hawtin, Luke Slater and Speedy J, while also releasing for Darren Emerson's Underwater label under the names Eddie Wolf and Cliffhanger
Fellow Junior Boy’s Own act Underworld recruited Price as their resident DJ on their world tour during 1995. One year later, Price released his debut album Under the Flightpath (the title referencing the location of his studio, near Heathrow airport).
After that Darren became part of Underworld, mixing one of the most important tracks in electronic music history 'Born Slippy’; used by Danny Boyle for his seminal movie ‘Trainspotting’.
His remixing duties for Underworld also included 'Push Upstairs', 'Mmm Skyscraper I Love You’, 'Lenne Penne', 'Twenty Three Blue', 'Dark and Long' and ‘Confusion The Waitress'. He joined Underworld on stage in 2001 and was part of Underworld live until 2016.
His extensive remix roster includes the likes of New Order, Depeche Mode, Andrew Weatherall and David Holmes' 'Killing Eve' to name but a few. Also various soundtracks such as 'Kill Bill’, along with Danny Boyle's ‘Trainspotting’ and ‘Sunshine’.
His collaborative work with Danny Boyle continued with both the live soundtrack and athletes parade during Boyle’s 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony spectacular.
He has DJ’d at some of the biggest clubs and festivals in the world including main stage at Love Parade - Berlin, Fuji Rock - Japan, Coachella - USA and of course, Glastonbury.
Price still records to this day, releasing for Parallel from Madrid; regularly uploading his tracks to his Soundcloud profile.

Join us for a deep listening Sunday night as Patrick Carpenter (Ninja Tune) returns from the musical wilderness with his latest album, 'Electric Envelope'.
A collection of Logic projects from the last 15 or so years, meticulously crafted and lovingly curated, some with a specific context in mind, others sprung from a time and place impetus. All deeply embedded in the armchair with a nod and a wink to the dancefloor.
We'll be putting the Revox to use and playing the album in full on 1/4" tape. The night also includes a DJ set from Patrick and musical soulmate Kevin Foakes (DJ Food). Free entry, booking advised.

S/A/M, a Sri Lankan-British DJ now based in Ibiza, spins vibrant rhythms that bridge continents and genres. As a resident DJ at Cafe de Mar and Pikes Hotel, her sets blend warm Balearic melodies with dreamy rhythms, reflecting her island inspiration.
A radio host for the globally acclaimed Music For Dreams with a weekly show - "Sueños de Ibiza", an avid music digger and classically trained pianist, S/A/M’s musical roots and deep rooted passion for sound is reflected in her diverse approach to DJing.
Her warm island Balearic sound draws inspiration from the original sound of Ibiza fusing together many styles, whilst her forays into world music is largely inspired from working as a music curator for venues, festivals and carnival having worked with artists as diverse as Quantic Soul Orchestra, Soul II Soul, DMC Champions C2C, The Skatalites and Ugandan DJ Kampire plus many more.
Festivals include the Garden Festival (Croatia), Bestival, Beat-Herder and S/A/M has supported Nightmares On Wax, Luke Unabomber and Nickodemus, has guested on the Chill Out Tent, Red Light Radio, Ibiza Sonica, with a number of mixes featured on BBC Radio 1’s Wind Down Sessions.

In a special Spiritland Talk, we welcome the legendary photographer Dennis Morris. Dennis Morris has famously chronicled the careers of Bob Marley, The Sex Pistols, Public Image Limited, Lee Scratch Perry, Simply Red, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Marianne Faithful and more. He’s also known to music heads as the lead singer of Basement 5, a seminal reggae funk band.
His photographs have appeared in publications including Rolling Stone, Time, People, V, GQ, I-D, Vogue, and the Sunday Times and he has held exhibitions worldwide in cities including Sydney, Tokyo, London, New York, Paris and San Francisco.
He picks out some of the tracks that have guided him along the way, talking through his choices with DJ, author and erstwhile punk Bill Brewster.

We return to our beloved Lisboa this year, with two of the UK's most forward-thinking DJs playing in a brand new warehouse space in March and April.
Friday March 15th finds our dear friend Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip and beyond at the controls. You can expect a wide selection of music to move to from disco, boogie, electro-pop and house through to techno and forward-thinking electronica.
He always brings a party vibe and has DJ’ed everywhere from Tokyo, Seoul, Bali, Athens, Helsinki, Paris, Brussels, Naples, Barcelona, New York to LA. Now it's Lisbon's turn to party.
Support comes from our man in Lisbon Adam Purnell, a kindred musical spirit who shares our love for good food, wine and slo-mo sleazy music.

Ex-Le Mellotron resident and current member / resident DJ of Parisian party collective La Wild, Xander relocated from London (ish) to Paris in the summer of 2015. The pair host a radio show on Soho Radio and are regularly seen guesting at some of London's best underground Soul and Disco nights including the legendary Faith parties. They have graced the decks at places such as KOKO, XOYO, The Royal Albert Hall, Ronnie Scotts and The Jazz Cafe; as well as festivals such as Glastonbury, Field Day, Brixton Disco Festival, Cross The Tracks and The Soundcrash Funk & Soul Weekender.
