Young Discollector & Raw Queen share the same passion for high quality and obscure records.

Having both a strong interest in Modern Soul, Gospel and Jazz, they started collecting records almost a decade ago. They grew up in the same environment, they went to the same college, lived in the same neighborhood, but only got to know each other through record collecting. That’s when they discovered that they had a lot in common.

Young Discollector also founded a record label called Providenciales Records, reissuing Soul / Funk records but soon also unreleased music. Raw Queen has also a music collective named « Discotomie », touring with friends and playing records.

This is a perfect chance to catch the pair in action behind the Kings Cross controls.

Alan Braxe and DJ Falcon, are indisputable architects of the French Touch - the emotive house music conjured from looped samples with an inimitable Gallic flare that emerged from Paris in the mid 90s. Both had pivotal, separate collaborations with Bangalter - Falcon with Bangalter as Together (“Together,” 2000 & “So Much Love To Give,” 2002), Braxe with Bangalter as Stardust (“Music Sounds Better With You,” 1998).

This year they presented their first ever collaboration as Braxe & Falcon in the form of the Step By Step EP, released on Smugglers Way - a sublime distillation of their shared musical essence and a compelling expansion only conceivable for them at this point in time.

They join us at the end of an extensive world tour for their one and only London show at Spiritland Royal Festival Hall. Support comes from our friend, DJ and producer Aroop Roy. A recent B2B session with Mr Scruff led him to say "Aroop Roy is a ridiculously skilled selector. It was a privilege and pleasure to play with him.”
