OLINSTVI (LBD Sounds / Compact Disco, Prague)

  • Boogie

  • Electronic

Long time Phonica Records affiliate with a penchant for selecting wide range of music with the only focus - to surprise dancefloor with tunes that most of the others might overlook. 90s acid house flavor, breaks with blend of Afro synth and B-sides dub versions, that and much more can be experienced whilst Olinstvi is on. His niche subject for listening sessions are cosmic sounds, foundations of electro and exotic soundtracks.

Most notable moments on the dancefloor are coming from the long experience of residencies and gigs, spanning from various corners of Europe to Southeast Asia and Oceania, which speaks for itself of a devotion to this craft.

Growing up in the small town in Czech Republic - Sternberk, which was surrounded with a flourishing house music scene through various club nights and festivals in the region around early 2000s, had made him a dj & promoter since very early stages. After relocating to London, where he became closely knitted with the scene during the heydays of Brick Lane and Phonica records store.

Next ventures brought him to Sydney, where he was close to Picnic Events agency, which brought him unmissable experiences down under accompanying touring DJs and absorbing sound influences of down under. Based in Prague now, where he holds residencies with his own label nights, as well as Compact Disco events in Ankali club.

We welcome him to Spiritland for an intrepid musical session.

in Turin. He is also the leader of the music ensemble that bears his name,
constructing a mysterious narrative about his life and work. The band relies on a hazy
blend of overlapping layers to create a mystical, soft-core sound. Many influences,
ranging from jazzy and alternative rock melodies to psychedelic and lo-fi ambient
sounds, but also left-field.

Active with one EP (My curly hair, Nov. 2018) and two LPs (Ride on and A Prophet after his Turkish bath, 2022), released in May and June of the same year.
Notable Singles Ride On (2022) and Perfect Town (2020) were issued by Nice Guys
Records, a French label.

Gionatan has a mercurial and unpredictable personality and is able to express himself
in unique ways because of his varied life experiences. He is always open to trying new
things, collaborating with people, and sharing his artistic endeavours. Currently
preparing for his first solo exhibition, which will introduce him to the modern world and
establish his psychedelic universe as a dominant visual force.

‘I’m With Pulp, Are You?’ Book launch with Mark Webber and Pete Paphides (SOLD OUT)

15/12/2024 KC

  • Pop

We celebrate the arrival of a new book from Mark Webber, charting his remarkable journey from Pulp superfan to band member. He'll be talking to our friend Pete Paphides about his history with this beloved band, and we host a full album playback on vinyl.

Pulp guitarist Mark Webber has announced details of his personal history of Pulp, which
gathers material from the extensive collection of ephemera and objects that he has
accumulated over four decades of involvement with the band.

The book combines images with Webber’s reminiscences to chronicle a history of Pulp, told from the inside. I’m With Pulp, Are You? features photographs, flyers, record covers, set lists, badges, posters, press clippings, and merchandise, alongside masses of promotional material to present a unique history of one of Britain’s most beloved bands.

I'm With Pulp, Are You? also features a foreword by Jarvis Cocker, and newly commissioned essays by music writers Simon Reynolds and Luke Turner.

Webber explains, “I began to excavate the boxes of Pulp ephemera that I’d hoarded over
the years and was amazed to discover so many things that I hadn’t seen for decades,
things I’d completely forgotten about. It’s taken a while to get it all together into a book,
and in the meantime the group unexpectedly reunited to go on tour again. I’m excited to
finally share the stuff I’ve saved, and to present it in this way, along with memories of my
experiences of being involved in Pulp from the 1980s ’til now.”
