Tara Minton – ‘The Devil Invites You To Dance’ Album launch
09/08/2026 KC
- Album launch
We're hosting the Vinyl Launch Party for Tara Minton's upcoming release, 'The Devil Invites You To Dance'. The night will include a full playback of the album, plus an interview by Paul Pace.
Written in México City in July 2023, the album follows a soul’s journey through the underworld of shadows and desire.
Diving deep into Aztec mythology and Latin American dance traditions, the listener is invited on a dark and joyous exploration of what it means to be human. Beyond "should" and "shouldn't" is the place where we meet ourselves with raw honesty.
The album is bilingual with lyrics in both English and Spanish and features a beautiful collaboration with Mexican poet/composer, Emilio Yañez Ruíz. 'Cariño' is a romantic bolero inspired by the legendary love story between México's most famous volcanoes, Popocatépetl and Iztaccihuatl.
The album artwork is by renowned Méxican muralist and street artist, kober_mx. The large-scale public mural can be visited in greater Coyoacan and exists as a permanent piece of living art in México City.
Tara Minton is an Australian born harpist, vocalist and composer. She is proudly endorsed by Les Harpes Camac and holds a master's degree in jazz performance from The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Sought after as both a harpist and vocalist, Tara has worked with Björk, Tom Walker, ESKA, Stan Sulzmann, Geoff Gascoyne, Emma Rawicz, Alice Zawadski, Faris Ishaq, The Ronnie Scott's All Stars, Opera North, The Royal Ballet and the Australian World Orchestra.
Doors open at 5pm for welcome drinks and mingling, followed by a listening session interspersed with artist interview and Q&A.
The album is available to purchase on the night.

Private Agenda is the enduringly eclectic alt-pop project of Sean Phillips and Martin Aggrowe. Based between London and Amsterdam, the pair have crafted an alluring and versatile sound from a musical palette which touches upon dream pop, disco, ambient and adult contemporary.
Their expansive approach to music-making owes inspiration, in part, to a love of the Balearic Beat where leftfield 12'' new wave and pop records found a home in DJ sets to soundtrack long, hazy nights alongside early house and slo-mo disco.
Private Agenda have released two full-length studio albums on Lo Recordings, a hotbed for experimental electronica and have collaborated on releases for a number of iconic indie labels including Mute, City Slang and Wall of Sound as well releasing on leading imprints in the electronic music underground, including International Feel, Permanent Vacation and Live at Robert Johnson.

FIERCELAND BY OMAR MUSA – Launch event
30/08/2026 KC
- Talks
Omar Musa is an author, visual artist and poet from Australia, Fierceland is his second novel. Join us for this launch event at Spiritland on Sunday 30th August.
After many years abroad, Harun and Roz return to Malaysian Borneo for the funeral of their palm-oil baron father, Yusuf – and to reckon with their inheritance. Yusuf might be a hero to many, but his children know that not only has he built the family’s immense wealth by destroying huge tracts of rainforest, but also that he was involved in the violent disappearance of a man who stood in his way.
Harun is a successful tech entrepreneur in Los Angeles while Roz is an artist struggling to stay afloat in Sydney, and both are determined to return something their father stole from the forests of their homeland. In their quest for redemption they grapple with the legacy of power and corruption and are haunted – by the ghosts of colonialism, the ghosts of family, the ghosts of language, and the ghosts of the forest itself.
A trailblazing journey across the globe, Fierceland is a language-bending story that weaves the past and the present into an emotionally powerful family saga that plays out at a mythical scale.
Omar Musa is an author, visual artist, rapper and poet. He has written two novels (including Fierceland), three books of poetry, five hip-hop records, and two plays, Since Ali Died and The Offering (A Plastic Ocean Oratorio), with cellist Mariel Roberts Musa.
Fierceland won the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for Fiction and was shortlisted for the Miles Franklin Award. His debut novel Here Come the Dogs was long-listed for the International Dublin Literary Award and Miles Franklin Award and he was named one of the Sydney Morning Herald’s Young Novelists of the Year in 2015.
He has had several solo exhibitions of his woodcuts, including his most recent, The Hurt Business. His work has appeared in Poetry Magazine, The Best Australian Stories and Best of Australian Poems.
